Julie, Yoga Therapist and Anatomy Teacher
I'm a 5000-hrs registered yoga teacher (yoga elder)with the Yoga Independent Network. I have a spine issue called scoliosis and I lived many years abroad in different part of the world as I was a humanitarian worker. I started to practice yoga in 2009 and it changed my life. Back then, I was living in India and to address my back pain I had private lessons for 2 years with an Indian master, who shared with me his life-time experience. Suddenly, I did not need a physio anymore, I had my own practice to keep me healthy. I graduated in March 2012 in the Sivananda Ashram in Orléans -France- as a yoga teacher. When I started teaching, people with different conditions came to my classes, and I was in fear of doing the "wrong" thing and offering them movement that could worsen their conditions. So I started my anatomy journey with Blandine Calais Germain -France- in 2013. I graduated in 2017 after 300hrs of anatomy applied to Yoga and writing a dissertation about the spine (of course!) and the breath. My other teachers are Leslie Kaminof -New York- and Thomas Myers -Maine- whith whom I did online Anatomy trainings from 2014 to 2017. Today I follow classes with Julian Baker (UK - Functional Fascia), Robert Schleip (Germany - Fascia Research Specialist) and Jaap van der Wal, PhD, MD (Netherlands - Embriology). I offer regular anatomy workshops & CPDs to yoga teachers and movement practitioners.
